Deb Monteith

Programs are coordinated and facilitated by Debra  Monteith, an educator with twenty five years of experience in connecting children to the outdoors. Mrs. Monteith holds a Diploma of Teaching (physical education major) and a Bachelor of Education in Outdoor Education. She combines 7 years of Primary education experience in Western Australia, with 7 years of experience as an environmental educator for the E.N. Huyck Preserve in New York and 5 years as Director of BCS, an alternative green school in Albany NY.
In addition, Ms. Monteith has served as a Physical Education Director, coached several national level sporting teams,  held a National Umpiring accreditation from the Australian Netball Association and conducted a residential middle school environmental education camp for seven years. She is a certified Emergency Medical Technician in NY and holds a Senior First Aid and current WWC.

Deb Monteith was Centre Manager of Gosnells PCYC for 2 years since arriving back in her hometown of Perth in 2012 and has been recognized for her award winning program, Project Stepping Stones, a youth-at-risk reengagement program.

She was nominated in 2014 for a Premiers's Australia Day Active Citizenship Award at the City of Gosnells and Project Stepping Stones won the 2014 Peter J. Ball Memorial Safe City Award.
